The Attack on the Beach

Hamas is apparently responsible for firing missiles into Israel today in retaliation for an alleged Israeli gunboat attack on a Gaza beach yesterday. Israel is conducting an investigation into the beach attack. If they find out it was Israeli guns they need apologize and pay reparations, but I think the important point here is that regardless of what happened on the beach they should not retaliate for the missiles attacks.

It's possible that the Israeli's are not responsible for the beach attack. We've seen this before. For instance, I'm now convinced that the famous image of the Palestinian man holding his dead son was at the worst staged, but at least the result of Palestinian faction fighting rather than from an Israeli attack. But even if this was a Palestinian attack on the beach I hope Israel does not respond to today's rocket attacks.
