Getting Warrants

The only frightening thing about Bush not wanting to get warrants is Bush not wanting to get warrants. It really surprises me that they’re fighting this battle. They have a court which is designed to easily and securely provide warrants. The court apparently has a superb track record of maintaining secrets. It’s apparently not that difficult to get warrants, and yet still, Bush wants to bypass it.

I am perfectly willing to provide great leeway to law enforcement agencies to do internal spying, but they MUST have oversight. Especially since oversight does not significantly impede their efforts.

Let them spy, but they still have to get warrants.
